KYLEAKIN HARBOUR

The Harbour in the Village is bustling with activity at most times of the day.  We have a very active Fishing Fleet and the Marina is favoured by visiting Yachts and Motor Cruisers.

A copy of the current monthly Tide Tables may be found at both the Bright Water Centre (side window) and on the Village Noticeboard, the latter from March - December only.

The Harbour Clean Up went very well despite there being a wee mix-up of where to locate the Skip!  Six trolley loads of debris ranging from tyres, piping and old rusty metalwork to crates and carpets were recovered from the Harbour Basin in sunny weather, plus some eight bags of assorted rubbish.

Using our "Eco-Tractors" (Fish boxes hauled by rope!) proved very successful over the seaweed and mud, although a JCB with a front bucket would have been useful...

The day meant a lot of excellent Public Relations with Visitors and Kyleakin Residents, even some of the local teenagers helped out.

Next year we will be tackling the area from the bridge to South Obbe, westwards up An t'Obbe - with a BBQ afterwards!
